Cloud9 IDE Setup

For this lab we will use the AWS Cloud9 IDE. Cloud9 IDE environment should be available as part of the cloud formation stack which was run earlier.
  1. Use services search and enter cloud9 as shown below.
  2. Select Open IDE.
  3. Once Cloud9 IDE launches you should see a screen like this:.
  4. Cloud9 IDE comes with a default 10GB disk space which can fill quickly when we are setting up development environment. Run the command below to get the resize script and then run it to increase the disk size to 20GB.
  5. curl https://aws-data-analytics-workshops.s3.amazonaws.com/athena-workshop/scripts/cloud9_resize.sh > cloud9_resize.sh
            
    Run the script by issuing following command on cloud9 terminal. This will resize the disk to 20GB.
    sh cloud9_resize.sh 20 
            
    Check the free space on the disk using below command.
    df -h 
            
    You should see something like this:
